For the PETA contest. I'd go with http://www.facebook.com/BiancaJadeStorm#!/photo.php?fbid=159456064089777&set=a.182813901753993.32270.115127241855993&theater shows what a great vegan you are.
Plus read you're 5'3. Haha thought you were 5'8 or something. I'm 5'2 so thanks for showing me I'll look like an adult not just some kid because of my height. :].
haha no, I’m lil ;) well average height in my opinion. Its a good height ;) I used to feel short, but I also haven’t grown since I was 10 so I used to actually be the tall kid :P so I know what its like on both ends and I have to say that I love my height now ;)
I have nothing against modelling, btw; it's PETA's advertising tactics that are counterproductive to the vegan cause of ending oppression, which, for me personally, not only includes animal oppression, but also human oppression. The means have to be the ends.
PETA also gives us vegans a bad name and people think we're crazy/violent when we really are not.
A blog post with links to posts other vegans have made about rethinking supporting PETA: http://blog.lagusta.com/2008/02/26/yet-another-radical-ecofeminist-vegan-against-peta/
This is a blog for animal rights activists who are concerned about the misogynist, racist, homophobic and transphobic tactics used by PETA: http://vegansagainstpeta.blogspot.com/
thanks for sharing hun.
This is why I haven’t yet entered and don’t know if I will. I love PETA for being the biggest organization out there to be making ppl aware of animal rights. However, as you mentioned, I don’t necessarily agree with a lot of their tactics.
While I also am not for the objectification of women, I feel that sometimes ppl go a bit overboard on the whole feminist front. I remember reading something in a book pointing out that the people that are out there saying “dont objectify women” and go on and on to extremes to make man and woman equal, they tend to hurt their own cause. Kind of like PETA and their way of standing up for animal rights. haha :P
thanks for sharing the links and your opinion love. :)
